The Perfect Garden Summerhouse

Our lovely Chelsea Summerhouse has been the perfect place to get out of the cold winds at the tail end of a autumn that just seems to have gone on and on... It is painted a soft, pebble grey, like the colour of collared dove's feathers, a colour that fits harmoniously with the plants around it.
The roof is made of cedar shingles, tightly fitting together, which age to a lichen grey. They give a lovely scent, woody and evocative, and the evening light comes slanting in from the west through the pretty windowpanes. I love the way the roof line flicks up gently at the eaves, a subtle piece of design. Hand made from Western Red Cedar which is known for its durability and resistance to warping and shrinking - very necessary to cope with the sort of winter upon us! All in all, it is a thing of beauty as well as being a restful place to sit out of the wind.

Part of the quintessential country garden for generations, and more and more an urban retreat from the pace of city life, summerhouses are the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors whatever the season.

By adding a Chelsea Summerhouse to your garden you can create an extra room to use all year round if you opt for a  fully insulated, double glazed building. We also offer the option of an electrical pack, which comprises of 2 double sockets, ceiling light and switch.

Timber Summerhouse

If you are looking to purchase a quality timber summerhouse, Chelsea Summerhouses has a range of premium quality timber summerhouses to suit most requirements.

Chelsea Summerhouses has a wide range of timber summerhouses in various shapes - octagonal, rectangular or a corner option - and sizes to suit most requirements and the various models are on our website; www.chelseasummerhouses.co.uk.

The type of timber we use in our summerhouse is Western Red Cedar which has a rich grain and a striking colour, which makes it the timber of choice where a beautiful finish is important.

Cedar is a premium quality timber that is hard wearing and naturally rot resistant which means that it neither warps nor twists, therefore ensuring that the finished garden structure is able to stand the test of time.

Western Red Cedar cladding provides far superior thermal protection to alternatives such as concrete, brick and stone. This is due to its low density and presence of air spaces within the wood - these unique qualities provide a natural thermostat.

Chelsea Summerhouses also offer the option of insulating your summerhouse, upgrading to double glazing and adding an electrical pack so you can use your timber summerhouse all year round.
